What’s your plan for the off-season?

Many triathletes, especially those who live and train in cold climates, find themselves gearing for the off-season. What does this mean? Well, mostly going to the gym 5 days per week, exercising less outdoors, hitting the spinning classes, and maybe trying out a few new group training classes. Besides all that training, it is also a good time to work on your diet and nutritional habits and figuring out what works for you. For example, its a lot easier to play with your intake levels in a spinning class than out on the open road!

For those of you who haven’t tried it yet, the ‘Paleo’ push is here and seeming more logical than ever, especially in the off-season when we need to watch our carb intake. While some like to call it a diet, it is definitely more of a lifestyle change than anything.

Here’s a great article via Runner’s World that explains more about the caveman cravings:  http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-242-303-307-9048-0,00.html

Leave some feedback! We’d love to hear about your nutritional knowledge and experiences!
